イングリッシュルームを実施しました

6月30日、本校にローリー先生をお迎えし、イングリッシュルームを実施しました。

前半は、先生に自己紹介をしていただきました。日本でのお仕事や、出身国の文化・暮らしについてお話しいただき、生徒たちにとって貴重な学びの時間となりました。生徒たちは、先生のお話を興味深く聞き、目を輝かせながら質問する姿が見られました。

また、生徒一人ひとりの自己紹介にも、先生が丁寧に質問をしてくださいました。短い時間ではありましたが、先生と生徒たちの距離がぐっと近づいたように感じられる、温かい交流の時間となりました。

後半は、七夕に向けて、日本語と英語で短冊にそれぞれの願い事を書きました。生徒たちは、まず日本語で願い事を考え、その思いを英語でどのように表現するのかを先生に教えていただきながら、オリジナリティあふれる短冊を作りました。

一方で、先生が短冊に日本語で願い事を書かれる際には、漢字の書き方を生徒たちに尋ねる場面もありました。生徒たちは、筆談パッドに漢字を大きく書いて見せながら、先生に書き方を伝えていました。

英語に触れる時間であると同時に、互いのことばを手がかりにしながら、自然にコミュニケーションを図る、温かい交流の時間となりました。

次回のイングリッシュルームは、9月を予定しております。

みんなの願い事が叶いますように！

On June 30, we welcomed Rory-sensei to our school and held an English Room activity.

In the first half of the activity, he introduced himself. He talked about his work in Japan, as well as the culture and daily life of his home country. It was a valuable learning opportunity for the students. They listened to his stories with great interest and asked questions with bright, eager expressions.

He also kindly asked questions during each student’s self-introduction. Although the time was limited, it became a warm and meaningful exchange, and we could feel that the distance between the teacher and the students became much closer.

In the second half of the activity, everyone wrote their Tanabata wishes on strips of paper in both Japanese and English. First, the students thought about their wishes in Japanese. Then, with the teacher’s support, they learned how to express their thoughts in English and created original wish strips filled with their own ideas.

At the same time, when the teacher wrote his own wish in Japanese, there were moments when he asked the students how to write some kanji. The students used a writing tablet to show the kanji in large letters and helped him with the writing. He looked at their examples and carefully completed his wish strip, one character at a time.

It was not only a time to experience English, but also a warm opportunity to communicate naturally by using each other’s languages as a bridge.

The next English Room is scheduled for September.
