We introduced the intranet-based text/character broadcasting system with the view to provide our students with visual evacuation information, for instance about the location of a fire, and to allow effective countermeasures to be taken against intrusion by suspicious individuals to the school premises. Since the implementation of the system, we have been transmitting daily broadcasts along with test-broadcasts in order to ensure the functionality of the whole system. In the 3rd year of its operation, daily airing by our students has already become quite common. We are now trying our best to equip the Delivery Timetable, which forms the core of our Data Input System, with an easy-to-operate interface so as to promote the use of the broadcasting system, and at the same time to refine the system in order for the broadcasters to swiftly air their programs. Especially for this school year, we are emphasizing the refurbishing of the sender-side functions. Also, in preparation for the permanent introduction to all the departments of our school, we accumulated referential data by means of carrying out a questionnaire survey to our students about this text/character broadcasting system. This is a report on the operation of our broadcasting system that is now in its 3rd year.
