We have introduced a broadcasting system in our school that can display texts and characters visually for the purpose of providing our students with visual evacuation information including the location of where a fire has broken out and to allow swift countermeasures to be taken against intrusion by suspicious individuals to the school site. It can perform seven functions: 1) emergency warning broadcast, 2) emergency broadcast, 3) ordinary broadcast, 4) event broadcast, 5) paging service broadcast, 6) news broadcast, 7) weather forecast broadcast. This system is now in smooth operation, and we are striving to boost its convenience by the use of the self-developed data input system. This is a report about the process of introducing this text/character broadcasting system to our school.
