English Teaching Approach
in Elementary School Department

At our Elementary School Department, pupils have taken English lessons conducted by teams of Junior High School teachers since the school year of 2009. In the 1st year, these lessons are given only to the 6th-year pupils, but from 2010 they are also given to the 5th-year pupils. In these lessons, the aim is to have pupils acquire familiarity with English and to express themselves in English by teaching them basic greetings and conversation, the way to introduce themselves, sentence structure with glinking verbs (verbs to be, be-verbs)h or ones with ordinary verbs, etc. The lesson is offered only once or so each Semester, but the pupils are actively participating in the classes. The following report is the record of our practice.
